J's kindergarten teacher really focused on thankfulness, this month.
She believes in the importance of helping her students
recognize their many blessings.
J's class is thankful for many things. Check out this list, compiled during one day's circle time. |
As part of their focus on gratitude, the class put on the cutest Little Indian program, for the parents. They sang songs & recited poems. They moved & they grooved. |
After the program, everyone was invited back to the classroom for a snack. Stone soup & pumpkin bread...all prepared by the kindergartners!! |
Tables were covered in butcher paper. Each kid's spot was decorated with Thanksgiving pictures. Adorable. Sweet. I'm a big fan of any artwork containing my child's handprint. |
Have I ever mentioned how much we love J's kindergarten teacher?
Well, then it's high time I did.
Mrs. H. is amazing.
Patient. Intentional. Patient. Fun. Patient.
You just have to spend a moment in her classroom,
to see that she loves her job, that she creates a safe place to learn,
that she exudes warmth, & that she genuinely cares for her students.
Kindergarten "feels" like kindergarten in her classroom.
There is so much content to teach these days.
She gets that in, while letting the kids explore,
create, draw, write, color, etc.
She allows them to be kindergartners,
while adding purpose to each
and every moment they're in her presence.
J has loved going to class everyday.
We are grateful for many things...
including Mrs. H.
