Yesterday was your 5th birthday, J !! I love you to the moon & back...forever & always...and even more than that! This past year, you've really grown up in many ways. Even though you love to play with your big brother, you've also started to develop your own interests.
You especially have a passion for sports...college football, the NFL, and college basketball (so far). What a treat that the NCAA Championship game was on, tonight: Butler Bulldogs vs. UCONN Huskies!! At halftime, you went to bed & hoped Butler would win. I know you'll check the sports page first thing in the morning and possibly be a little disappointed. However, Daddy & I are already looking forward to watching more football & basketball with you & L in the future. Such a sweet family activity for us all to enjoy together!! I don't think I've ever loved March Madness as much as I have this year!
Lately, you almost daily pretend you are part of some sporting event. While you're only one person, you play like you're people from both teams. Sometimes, you decide to have a college team go up against a professional team. You run back and forth (for hours), in our front room and provide the family with constant score updates/highlights. Daddy & I especially love to watch your instant replays. You're so much fun!!
Speaking of fun...you enjoy preschool. It's hard to believe only a few weeks are left, and then you'll be a kindergartner. I remember when I was a kindergartner. How can this be, that you're all ready to go off to big kid school? Yet, I know you are ready & can hardly wait to live the kindergarten life (and possibly lose a tooth). You can already read small words & count pretty high. We are so proud of you!
I could write forever...about how you make me smile, how you love Jesus, how you treat your friends, how you have an infectious laugh, and how you still love to cuddle up & read books with me. I'm so blessed to be your mommy.

**The day after your bday, we were finally able to get a pic of you & Daddy together. Hooray!**
