What's in a Name?

Chad:  "Place of Springs.  Interesting.  What does that mean?"
Kate:  "It's from my favorite psalm.  And, I just like the sound of it."
Chad:  "Oh, so it's not about your hair?"
Kate (laughing):  "No!!  I didn't even think of that, but you're clever."

So, contrary to my husband's belief, the title of this blog is not in reference to my springy, curly locks.  Although, now it's hard not to think of that.  :)  Here's the real scoop:  Since college, I've loved Psalm 84...the whole thing!  However, there are a few verses that have always struck a chord with me.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.  As they pass through the valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs...  ~Psalm 80: 5-6

In my NIV Study Bible's commentary section, it talks about those who were on a pilgrimage to Zion.   Along their journey, there were challenges (like life now, right?!).  Then, it's explained that "The joyful expectations of the pilgrims transform the difficult ways into places of refreshment."  I'm in love with that; it encourages me.

Thus, the blog had a name.  :)
